Suffolk Dandelion Syrup
Another exciting little syrup to share with you all today! I bet you are thinking.....What is it about using ‘Garden Weeds’, in our products 🤷♀️
Most people are familiar with dandelion as a stubborn weed that ruins the appearance of your lawn or garden. I suggested to my husband, could I grow ‘Dandelions’ in our garden? He wasn’t really impressed with the idea, however in a controlled herb garden would be more ideal. The only downside to this idea is being able to grow enough to maintain the quantities required to make continuous syrup.
Did you know that all parts of the Dandelion is edible. The beautiful blooming yellow flower heads make delicious wine, jelly and in this case syrup. Our syrup can be used to sweetener your favourite hot or cold drink or use it into your baking. I always take my syrup ‘neat’, it’s not a recommendation, just a personal choice.
Not only are they great for us but also important food source for bees and other pollinating insects. Dandelions are one of the first flowers to make an appearance after winter. This gives us the chance to take advantage of this little flower, and create some delicious food either from, or including various parts of the plant. Definitely do your research about ‘Dandelions’.
I always Love to share a ‘Old Wives Tale’ when advertising my new products. I remember being told as a child, if you picked a dandelion, you would wee yourself....he he! I don’t need to pick a dandelion these days to have a little accident 🤩🤩🤩
Just remember it is important to know with all herbal supplements, this is not a replacement of medical advice from a medical professional or GP. If symptoms persist then you must seek medical advise.
