Kefir Water has become extremely popular over the years. This is simply because we are taking more of an interest in what we eat, drink, perfect that work life balance and taking up regular exercise.
But what makes Kefir different to other healthy drinks?....this is a Pro biotic Water. It’s a traditional fermented drink made with filtered water and a symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeasts held in a polysaccharide biofilm matrix created by the bacteria. One of the most important ingredients to make Kefir is ‘Sugar’. Kefir feeds of the sugar, but don’t worry very little sugar ends up in the final product. In the fermenting process consumes most of the sugar.

It is not completely clear where or when water kefir grains originated, but speculation points towards Mexico. According to some research, the tibicos culture forms on the pads of the Opuntia cactus as hard granules that can be reconstituted in a sugar-water solution as propagating tibicos. There is documentation from the late 1800s of water kefir grains being used in fermented drink made from the sweetened juice of the prickly pear cactus in Mexico.3
There are, however, stories that place their origin, or at least their use, in Tibet, the Caucasus Mountains, and the southern peninsula of the Ukraine. Pinpointing a place of origin is made even more difficult because water kefir cultures can be found throughout the world and no two cultures are exactly the same. Lack of recorded history also makes it difficult to place an origin date, but it seems likely these grains have been used for many centuries.

Kefir Grains, Fresh lemon, Sweetener (Erythritol), Filtered Water
If kefir starts to have a odd smell, or change in colour, it’s time to chuck it away.
Not recommended for children under 2 years old.
Allergen advice due to the way our kefir is prepared it is not possible to guarantee the absence of allergens in our products.
Suitable for Vegans, Vegetarians
If you are new Kefir
recommended to take 1 shot glass a day and build it up.
How to take your Kefir
Kefir Water is fabulous in smoothies, drinks, ice lollies or your favourite cocktails....the choices are endless.
Store in fridge, Kefi can last up to 2 to 3 weeks after opening bottle.
Unopened Kefir, can survive up to 2 months.
