Medical Acupuncture coming this January 22
Coming this January…..Medical Acupuncture for Children over 12 years old for any musculoskeletal disorders (MSD).
Medical Acupuncture (Dry Needling) involves inserting fine needles for a therapeutic effect. Overall, it is an adaptation of the Chinese method just using modern up-to-date knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Medical Acupuncturists no longer conform to the notion of Ying and Yang. However, we do aim to create homeostasis within the body.
Within my own family I use this technique regularly for my husband’s ‘displaced/prolapse disc’ in his back (L2). I also treat my son with a session of MSD acupuncture. At first he couldn’t see how it really all worked, until I done his knees where he struggles with Osgood-Schlatter disease for years. This condition causes pain and swelling below the knee joint, where the patellar tendon attaches to the top of the shinbone (tibia), a spot called the tibial tuberosity. There may also be inflammation of the patellar tendon, which stretches over the kneecap then he felt the ‘twitch’ as he described it. Using acupuncture is to sedate these trigger points and the pain they cause.
This is why it’s extremely popular method of treatment for pain and mobility relief within the sports industry too.
Relate the use of Acupuncture to the treatment of acute and chronic pain, and for a number of musculoskeletal conditions eg.
